Creator Terms
Draft: pending legal review (#1020). This document is a working draft provided for review. It has not yet been reviewed by counsel and may change before creator payouts open.
Version: Draft of October 21, 2026
1. Parties and purpose
These Creator Terms ("Terms") are entered into between zhakura studio GmbH, a company registered in Switzerland (commercial register no. CHE-248.204.588) with its registered office at Winzerhalde 109, 8049 Zürich, Switzerland, which operates the tripcode platform ("tripcode", "we", "us"), and the tripcode user who publishes a paid tripcode ("Creator", "you").
They govern selling tripcodes (ready-made trip templates) on tripcode: the revenue share, payouts, refunds and taxes. They supplement, and must be read together with, the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. Where these Terms conflict with the Terms & Conditions on selling tripcodes, these Terms prevail.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms in the app before your first paid tripcode goes live. tripcode records the version you accepted and when. If you published paid tripcodes before these Terms existed, you will be asked to accept them before you can receive a payout.
If we publish a new version, we will give you notice, and the app asks you to accept it before your next paid tripcode goes live. A new version applies to sales made after it takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can unpublish your tripcodes at any time to stop selling.
3. How a sale works
Buyers purchase tripcodes as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app store processes the payment and handles refunds under its own terms, keeps its fee, and collects any VAT, sales tax or similar tax on the sale.
The net proceeds of a sale are its US-dollar sale price less the app store's fee and the tax, using the fee and tax rates reported for that sale when it is made. They can differ slightly from the amounts in the app stores' own financial reports (for example because of exchange rates). tripcode then pays you your share as described below.
You set the price from the price tiers offered in the app. Prices are set in US dollars; the app store shows buyers a local price.
4. Revenue share
For each completed sale of your tripcode, you earn 80% of the net proceeds. tripcode keeps the remaining 20% of the net proceeds as its platform fee. Your share is calculated in US dollars and rounded down to the cent.
Where the app store does not report its fee or the tax for a sale, tripcode may use a reasonable estimate and hold that sale until it has been reviewed. Test and sandbox purchases are not sales and earn nothing. We will give you notice before changing the revenue share; a change applies only to sales made after it takes effect.
5. Payouts through Stripe Connect
To receive earnings you must open and maintain a Stripe Connect account in good standing and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. Stripe verifies your identity and, where applicable, your business; tripcode is not a party to your agreement with Stripe.
- Earnings become available for payout after a holding period (currently 60 days from the sale), which covers the app stores' usual refund window.
- Payouts are made once your available balance reaches the payout minimum (currently US$25), currently in US dollars or in another currency we tell you about. Stripe may convert the amount into your account's currency at its own rates.
- tripcode may withhold or delay a payout while it investigates suspected fraud, an infringement claim, or a breach of these Terms, or where required by law.
6. Refunds, chargebacks and reversals
If the app store refunds a buyer or reverses a sale (including a chargeback), that sale's earnings are removed from your balance. If they were already paid out to you, the same amount is deducted from your next payouts. If no further payouts are due, tripcode may ask you to repay it. If the app store reverses the refund, the earnings are restored. tripcode does not decide app store refunds and cannot dispute them on your behalf.
7. Taxes
Your earnings are paid before any taxes you may owe in your own country. You are solely responsible for declaring and paying any income tax, VAT, sales tax, social contributions or other taxes on your earnings, and for any registration this requires. Where the law requires tripcode or Stripe to collect tax information from you, report your earnings to a tax authority, or withhold tax, we or Stripe will do so, and payouts may be paused until the information is provided.
8. Your content
You confirm that each tripcode you publish is your own work, based on a trip you actually planned or took, and that you have the rights to everything in it, including photos. You grant tripcode a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, distribute and promote your tripcodes, and to let buyers use them to plan their own trips. Buyers may use a purchased tripcode for personal trip planning; they may not resell it. You must keep your tripcodes accurate and not misleading, and tripcode may unpublish a tripcode that breaches these Terms or the Terms & Conditions.
9. Your status
You act on your own account. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship between you and tripcode.
10. Ending these Terms
You may stop selling at any time by unpublishing your tripcodes. tripcode may suspend or end your ability to sell tripcodes for a breach of these Terms. Earnings from sales made before then are paid out under these Terms, less any refunds and reversals. Buyers keep access to tripcodes they have already purchased.
11. Liability, changes and governing law
The disclaimers and limitation of liability in the Terms & Conditions apply to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version and asking you to accept it in the app (see section 2). These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zürich, Switzerland, unless mandatory consumer-protection law where you live provides otherwise.
